Exchange Server is Microsoft’s most popular and widely used server to connect to on the Internet. It provides a lot of functionality, including an e-mail, Calendar, Messaging, Publisher, etc. With the help of this Mail Server, companies as well as individuals can communicate with each other over the Internet.
However, some of the companies may find it to be more of a challenge to handle the service, since they do not have the knowledge about how to go about the process. Some of the reasons why they may find it challenging to manage this system are described below. Aside from the tasks that need to be done, there are some companies that require more time than expected to set up the server. With the advent of more advanced computer technologies, many companies do not possess the expertise to go for it.
It is because of these things that users need to know how to manage their Exchange server. With this, they will be able to enjoy the efficiency of the mail system.
In terms of getting the information on the new mailbox, users need to log on to the server and look for the mailbox. In order to set up a new mailbox, the user needs to go to the database section and click on New Mailbox. In order to do this, the user needs to give the name of the mailbox that they want to create.
After clicking on this option, the user will be asked to provide his or her user name and password. The users are required to make sure that they are not sharing the same password with anyone else. This will protect the account from others who have access to it.
In the next step, the user will be asked to choose the type of mailbox that he or she wants to use. There are two types of mailbox available in the server. These two types are: Public and Private. The Public mailbox is the one that most of the users have access to, while the Private mailbox is the one that only some people have access to.
If you have installed this in your company, then you should decide whether you want to set up a public or private mailbox. If you want to use the Public mailbox, then you should choose the one that has the public-mailbox or first-name-last-name setting.
In the next step, the user will be asked to fill in the security setting in the database section. He or she needs to make sure that they use a Security ID in creating the Security Id.
Once the security setting is completed, the user can go back to the Server Manager and click on the Add service accounts option. The users can use the default settings as well.
Now, the user has to click on the Next button when the wizard asks him or her to ‘Continue’. Once the wizard finishes setting up the details, the user can start the installation of the Windows Active Directory Certificate Services.
The users can now make the service account. Once the service account is created, the users can go back to the Server Manager and click on the Create service account option. When the wizard finishes setting up the details, the users can go back to the Server Manager and click on the Add service account option.
The users can now configure the service account by choosing the options that they need to use. At this point, the users need to make sure that they have the correct setting and they know what is going on. These are the basics of how to set up a Microsoft Exchange Server.
